HISTORY OF MARYMOUNT PROFESSIONAL COLLEGES INC.

IUF Montessori Learning Center was founded in 1980 for a strong and noble reason. The founder of the institution, Atty. Emmanuel Tiu Santos and Mrs. Carmelita Soriente Santos, upon seeing the benefits and advantages of a different way of educating children through Montessori education to their children, had decided to put up an educational institution that would cater to the same educational needs of middle class school age children in Meycauayan through the establishment of the first Montessori school in Bulacan, the IUF Montessori Learning Center.

From an initial preschool population of 40, referred to as “CASA”; it grew organically and peaked to 280 pupils under the direction of the founder’s eldest daughter, Ms. Primavera Santos-Donohue as its Principal. The IUFMLC was meant to be just a Casa so the family house at Banga was initially perfect. But after the year 2000, it could not anymore handle its growth, so the Administration prepared to transfer to a bigger site.

In 2002, the IUFMLC transferred to IS Pavilion site in Banga where from its original population grew to reach its peak to 339 in 2009. The founding Chairman remained as Emeritus Chairman as he passed on to Mrs. Carmelita Soriente-Santos and to Mr. Raymos R. Soriente the Chairman of the Board and the President seats, respectively. Mrs. Elena D. Cuvin, an IUF Elementary teacher, became its new Principal. In the same year, IUFMLC changed its name to IUF Academy, Inc. The following school year (2002-2003), all the government recognition for its course offerings (Preschool, Elementary and Secondary) was granted to IUF. They were all housed at the IS Pavilion building in Banga. In the school year 2009-2013 under the supervision of Mrs. Rona Oliveros, the IUF High School Department was separated and transferred to a separate building.

The school year 2014-2015 marks the breakthrough for IUF Academy, Inc. Bustling with fresh vigor, renewed strength and heightened inspiration and motivation, it went its way to constructing a new and bigger building to its own lot adjacent to its former lots.

IUF Academy, Inc. transferred too its permanent site and sought registration of its new name to Marymount Professional Colleges Inc. from SEC with the primary purposes of offering not only basic education but also technical vocational and higher education degree courses. Its new administration composed of the Chairman of the Board (Mrs. Carmelita S. Santos), the President (Dr. Elena D. Cuvin) and Principal (Engr. Benjamin M. Moronia Jr.). Marymount personnel now has new, fresh and vibrant administrators, and academic personnel due to its continuous faculty development trainings and seminars on the best implementation of K to 12 and its Senior High School Program. The administrators also spearheaded the promotion of 21st Century Teaching and Learning for all its stakeholders through Outcomes Based Education and Blended Teaching and Learning. Marymount boasts about its complete and upgraded facilities for its technical vocational courses. In 2015, Marymount Professional Colleges Inc. was able to get its first permits from TESDA to operate two technical vocational courses, namely: Shielded Metal Arc Welding NCII and Motorcycle Repair/Small Engine Servicing NCII paving the way for more offerings of technical-vocational courses. In the same year, Marymount Professional Colleges Inc. was granted the permit to offer Senior High School beginning the School Year 2016-2017.

MPC continuously serves as one of the most prestigious private school in Bulacan.
